What does "upgrading" an artist profile mean?
When you buy a plan you're buying a number of artist upgrade slots. Pick the artist profiles you want to upgrade and they get refreshed every 12 hours, get cross-platform tracking (TikTok, Deezer, SoundCloud, Instagram, YouTube Music), and unlock all historical data we already track. Other artists stay accessible at the public refresh rate.
How does Musicstax compare to Chartmetric, Soundcharts and Songstats?
We're built lean by indie artists, for indie artists. At $2.92/month we're the cheapest indie plan in music analytics — even after Chartmetric introduced their $5/month Artist tier. The bigger competitors price their full feature sets for major labels at $99–$150/month, and none of them bundle Smart Links + Meta Pixel + Conversions API like we do. We focus on what indie artists actually need — Spotify popularity tracking, cross-platform metrics and release-page conversions — not enterprise A&R tools you'll never use.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Recurring plans (3-month and 1-year) can be cancelled from your dashboard at any time and they will not renew. The lifetime plan is one payment, no recurring billing, ever.
Is the Spotify popularity score actually important?
Yes. Pushing your popularity score above ~30 is the threshold where Spotify's algorithm starts giving you free organic streams via Discover Weekly, Release Radar and Daily Mix. What does this give me that Spotify for Artists doesn't?
Spotify for Artists doesn't expose your popularity scores — one of the key signals behind Spotify's algorithm. It also doesn't pull in metrics from TikTok, Instagram, Deezer, SoundCloud, YouTube Music or Tidal. Musicstax does both.
